Director's Note
The Art of Collaboration at NESA
At NESA, collaboration isn't just a buzzword—it's the heartbeat of our campus. While we celebrate our seven distinct majors, we know that true magic happens when they come together. After all, what's a film without a score, a play without a set, or a musical without dance?
This week is a perfect example of how our students are embracing the power of working together, with two exciting shows that highlight this common ground.
Le Cid: A Symphony of Senses
On Thursday, our Instrumental Musicians are bringing Stravinsky, Lully, and Massenet to life in a reimagined chamber orchestra performance of Le Cid. But they won't be performing alone. The music will be set to a stunning display of original artwork inspired by Le Cid, created by our talented NESA Visual Artists. This unique fusion of sound and sight proves that great art is often a shared experience. As Pablo Picasso once said, "Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success."
Legacy Live! A Campus-Wide Comedy
Collaboration is also taking center stage in a new, hilarious way with Legacy Live!, the first-ever sketch comedy show from NESA Creative Writing. Teaming up with the Allied Campus Theater, which includes students from NESA, STEM ISA, and LEE, they're following the famous Saturday Night Live model. The students write, pitch, cast, and produce the show all in one week! This incredible feat of teamwork shows how diverse talents can come together to create something truly special.
These incredible projects are a shining example of what we can achieve when we unite our different skills and passions. So come out and support your fellow students this week—you won't want to miss what they’ve created together.
