A Special Message from your NESA Director
Dear NESA Families,
This year marks an extraordinary moment in NESA’s history: 30 years of creativity, artistry and excellence in arts education.
To celebrate, I am thrilled to share something truly special.
In honor of NESA’s 30th anniversary, I am excited to announce NESA 30: An Evening in the Arts. For one evening, all seven NESA disciplines—Creative Writing, Dance, Film & Animation, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre and Visual Art—will come together in a unique collaboration showcasing the extraordinary creativity and talent of our students.
The celebration will coincide with the opening night of NESA Musical Theatre’s production of Disney’s FROZEN.
Our students will help transform the NESA lobby and entrance into a multisensory experience inspired by the world of FROZEN, including pop-up performances from alumni and current students. Students from across NESA will help imagine and bring the evening to life. It will be a wonderful example of what can happen when artists from different disciplines create together.
We will also welcome special guests from San Antonio’s arts, cultural and media communities to experience NESA behind the scenes and meet the students and directors who make this program so special. We hope to share the celebration beyond our walls as well, highlighting NESA and our students throughout the community leading up to the event. For 30 years, NESA has been a place where young artists have found their voices, challenged themselves, formed lifelong friendships and discovered what they are capable of achieving. Thousands of students have walked these halls, each becoming part of the story we celebrate today.
NESA 30: An Evening in the Arts is our opportunity to honor that history while showcasing the extraordinary work happening at NESA today—and celebrating where that creativity has taken our graduates.
