Director's Note
Accio Knowledge! NESA's Own O.W.L.s (or, EOCs and/or AP Exams as Muggles Call Them)
Dearest NESA Wizards (and Muggles, of course!),
As a self-proclaimed Slytherin (with a healthy dash of Ravenclaw, naturally), I find myself experiencing a familiar flutter in my stomach. Yes, it's that time of year again β the time when our young students face their Ordinary Wizarding Level exams! Or, as we more mundanely refer to them here at NESA, the End of Course (EOC) exams.
I know, I know, "EOC" doesn't quite have the same magical ring as "O.W.L." But fear not, for the challenges you face are just as significant, and the knowledge you possess is just as potent!
Let's be honest, we've all felt the stress that Harry, Ron, and Hermione experienced when it was their time to prove their magical prowess. And while we at NESA have the BEST students in the WORLD (no question!), we must remember that even the brightest stars need to shine with a clear mind and a well-rested spirit.
So, listen up, my brilliant NESA students! As your exams approach, remember these wise words:
- πSleep like a sleeping dragon:π A good night's rest is more powerful than any potion!
- π₯π₯ Breakfast like a house-elf on a mission:π₯π₯ Fuel your brain with a hearty meal.
- πStudy like Hermione: π Dive into your textbooks with focus and determination (though a little bit of Ron's "last-minute brilliance" can sometimes be amusing).
Remember, you are all capable of extraordinary things. I believe in each and every one of you!
Here are the dates you need to etch into your memory, clearer than a Pensieve memory:
- April 8, 2025 β English I EOC: Summon your inner Shakespeare!
- April 10, 2025 β English II EOC: Unleash your literary mastery!
- April 15, 2025 β Biology EOC: Explore the wonders of the natural world!
- April 16, 2025 β U.S. History EOC: Journey through the annals of time!
- April 22, 2025 β Algebra I EOC: Solve equations like a true arithmancer!
- May 5, 2025 β AP Bio (AM), AP Latin (AM) and AP European History (PM) Ostende nobis quid scis de historia et biologia
- May 6, 2025 β AP Chem (AM), AP Human Geo (AM) and AP Gov (PM) Show that you know the world and it's building blocks
- May 7, 2025 β AP Lit (AM), AP Comp Sci (PM) Writing is important, in poetry, prose and code.
- May 8, 2025 β AP Stats (AM), AP Japanese (PM), AP World History (PM), and AP Cybersecurity (PM) Understand and protect our world
- May 9, 2025 β APUSH (AM), AP Macro (PM) It is all about the economy
- May 12, 2025 β AP Calculus AB (AM), AP Calculus BC (AM), AP Music Theory (PM), and AP Seminar (PM) Art in numbers and numbers in art.
- May 13, 2025 β AP French (AM), AP Pre-Calculus BC (AM), AP Environmental (PM), and AP Physics 2 (PM) vous Γͺtes vraiment impressionnants.
- May 14, 2025 β AP English Language and Composition (AM) Property of the Half Blood Prince β
- May 15, 2025 β AP Art History (AM), AP Spanish Language and Culture (AM) No somos nada sin el arte.
- May 16, 2025 β AP Physics 1 (AM), AP Spanish Literature and Culture (AM), and AP Psychology (PM) I am out of clever phrases and have no earthly idea how to combine these three, but I know that you guys who are taking these tests will be PHENOMENAL!
May your quills flow smoothly, your minds be sharp, and your spells (or, rather, your answers) be correct!
With a sprinkle of stardust and a dash of good luck,
Ms. Askey
NESA Headmistress... ahem.. Director.
